Most students who took Ph.D. recruitment exam have only limited understanding of Ph.D. program. Just as what Professor Huang, the chairperson of Graduate Institute of Business Administration, said-" the goal of Doctoral Experience Camp held this year is to help all participants better understand the objectives of Ph.D. program and be familiar with the educating process and the recruiting requirements."

At 9 a.m. , after all participants arrived, Professor Huang gave a brief welcome speech, and then all the present Ph.D. students began to exchange opinions with the participants. Through such interactions, I found that most participants had huge misunderstanding of the program and the doctoral life. They just simply compared Ph.D. program to the Master program. Hence, we further discussed all these aspects in details with them.

In the late morning, our faculty including Jong-Tsong Chiang, Chia-Shen Chen, Shu-Cheng Chi, Shan-Yu Chou, Aichia Chuang, Yi-Wen Chien, Chia-Wei Kuo, Wun-Hwa Chen, and Chun-Yao Huang etc. all came on stage and introduced themselves, sharing their own doctoral experiences.

After lunch, participants were partitioned into groups with professors, so that all of participants could experience the seminar environment and ask professors some questions about the research methodology and directions. In addition, they could ask the present Ph.D. students to share how they prepared for joining PhD. Program.

Thereafter, Professor Ai-Chia Chuang gave a speech about "How to Plan and Organize Research Career". With Professor Chuang's energetic and spirited presentation and interesting group activities, all participants were able to freely express their motivations and goals for attending the PhD. program.

Before the camp ended, Professor Houn-Gee Chen introduced to us this year's intercollege cooperation plans, which will definitely broaden our students' global perspective and enhance the ability to conduct academic research with foreign scholars and our English communication  skills. All will eventually increase our graduates' competitive strength in workplace and academic fields.

After the whole day's camp, we could tell from all participants' responses that they are more confident and feel more secured of the entrance exam and the possible doctoral life. I do sincerely hope that they can fulfill their dreams and join our research group in the near future.
