Students in the insurance sector are also committed to obtaining the Actuary’s license. As for the international CFA exam, more and more students are working toward it.

Employment Options

Because of the continual development of the national economy and the governmental effort to internationalize and liberalize, the demand for domestic professionals increased dramatically. With the professional education and training provided by Department of Finance of NTU, the graduates of our department generally work with banks, insurance, securities, real estate, and corporate financial management. In the field of securities, securities brokers, underwriters, deals, mutual fund operations, securities analysts, investment advisors, securities finance companies, and foreign brokers all increase the demand for professionals and provide job opportunities. In the futures industry, because of the gradual advancement of the financial environment and the promulgation and implementation of the “Futures Trading Law,” the futures industry will not only provide corporate and individual hedge channels, but also expand the field of financial investment. The passing of the Real Estate Securitization Act also increased the demand for professionals. In insurances companies, two kinds of jobs are especially suitable for finance graduate students: being an investment director or an actuary. Insurance companies have huge funds and therefore need many professionals for investment. Graduates interested in investment can work towards this job market. In addition, the banking industries, such as investment banking, commercial banking, foreign exchange trading business fliers, are excellent fields for finance graduate students. As for governmental agencies, the Central Bank and the Treasury Department all provide good job opportunities.
