The NTU Expand Program emphasizes on a holistic approach to learning that extends beyond traditional management education. By integrating Eastern philosophy and medical wisdom, historical perspectives, and the appreciation of arts and humanities, the program seeks not only to broaden knowledge but also to enrich personal character and well-being. In today’s rapidly evolving business environment, management challenges increasingly extend beyond the boundaries of any single discipline and require cross-functional, interdisciplinary thinking. Business leaders and senior executives can no longer rely solely on conventional management theories to address complex issues, as most challenges arise from the interaction of multiple economic, social, political, and technological factors.

To address this reality, the NTU Expand Program adopts an issue-driven approach to learning, focusing on key themes such as transformation and upgrading, innovation and entrepreneurship, and succession and leadership continuity. These themes are examined through real-world contexts that encompass global trade dynamics, international finance, geopolitics, technology policy, and other influential forces shaping the business landscape. By analyzing cases within their broader contexts, participants learn to connect issues with underlying values and strategic considerations. The program equips leaders with the ability to identify emerging trends, interpret complex environments, and develop the strategic insight needed to navigate global and regional changes with confidence and foresight.

The NTU Expand Program advocates for a broad-minded and inclusive perspective when Eastern and Western ideas intersect in an increasingly interconnected world. Through interdisciplinary integration, participants are encouraged not only to break through the limitations of their own perspective, but also to engage in a continuous process of value creation and critical thinking by reconciling different viewpoints and approaches. To facilitate this exchange, the NTU Expand Program is designed around a partnership between a promising young scholar with strong academic expertise and a senior professor with extensive industry experience.

Acting as a bridge between academia and practice, the professors bring insights from cutting-edge fields such as dynamic pricing, neuroscience, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and venture capital, while also introducing real-world business challenges as potential areas for academic inquiry. This two-way exchange creates a platform for meaningful industry–academia dialogue, fostering innovation and helping narrow the gap between research and practice.

The NTU Expand Program serves as a gateway to a broader ecosystem of strategic partners and learning opportunities. Beyond the courses offered by NTU, the program embraces an ecosystem approach that connects participants with customized resources and expertise provided by external partners. Recognizing that leadership challenges and organizational needs vary widely, the program is designed to facilitate access to a diverse network of support and collaboration.

Whether participants seek to stay abreast of emerging management knowledge, expand their professional networks, or obtain specialized coaching and advisory services, the Expand Program provides a platform  that helps align individual needs with appropriate resources. These may include executive coaching, overseas study programs, peer advisory groups, learning communities, research networks, venture capital connections, and accelerator programs.
 Through this collaborative ecosystem, participants can benefit from shared knowledge, collective growth, and mutually reinforcing success, while retaining the flexibility to engage with additional resources according to their interests and needs.

Supported by NTU’s Industry-Academia Development Office (IADO), the program draws upon not only leading scholars in business and management but also faculty expertise across multiple disciplines throughout the university. Together, these resources help cultivate a vibrant “Post-EMBA Ecosystem” that brings together students, alumni, academics, and industry leaders in a dynamic and interconnected community.

NTU Leadership: Connecting Cross-Institutional Networks

In 1997, the NTU College of Management established Taiwan’s first EMBA program. More than two decades later, NTU launched Taiwan’s first post-EMBA program in 2019 in response to the evolving needs of business leaders and the rapidly changing global landscape. As the nation’s first and leading post-EMBA initiative, the NTU Expand Program aims to bridge the gap between advanced management capabilities and the ability to interpret and respond to major global trends, completing the “Last Mile” of leadership development through meaningful integration of academia and industry.

The NTU Expand Program provides participants with access to a more open and multidimensional learning platform, allowing them to identify the opportunities and challenges that will shape the next decade and beyond, enabling them to chart new directions for themselves, their organization and Taiwan in an era defined by profound global transformation.
