We live in a world focused on data and numbers. Therefore, now it is more important than ever to be able to understand statistics and be able to apply data analysis skills. With the ability to conduct scientific statistical studies and systematically analyze data, managers will be able to understand more about their customers, suppliers, competitors, and business environment. Having such insights can then facilitate more informed decision making and aid in creating a competitive advantage.
Due to this importance, GMBA provides a core class dedicated to understanding the fundamentals of statistics and data analysis. Topics covered in this class include exploratory data analysis, probability, sampling distributions, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and ANOVA. These topics provide insight into a wide range of useful techniques frequently used across many industries. The course utilizes a variety of tools, data sets, and case studies in order to help students apply the theories and techniques they are learning to real-life situations. Case study projects challenge students to think critically. They will not only perform data analysis but be able to draw conclusions from such data in order to provide creative and actionable solutions.
After completing the course, students will be capable of doing scientific data analyses for their future courses and in their respective industry positions.
