FAQ
The English version is provided for reference only. The Chinese version shall prevail in case of any discrepancies between the English and Chinese versions.

Q: What is the list of courses taught in English? How should I prepare?
A: Please list the basic information of the courses taught in English you have taken at NTU CoM. The content can include the course title in Chinese and English, course curriculum number, and instructor, etc. There is no format restriction.

Q: How should I fill in the class ranking and total number of the students of the class in the application form?
A: Only undergraduate students need to fill in. Please apply for the " Academic Year Class Ranking(學年名次證明書)" from the Office of Academic Affairs and fill in according to the content on the document.

Q: Can I apply to university-level(校級交換) and NTU CoM’s college-level(院級交換)Student Exchange Program at the same time?
A: Yes, but please note that your confirmed admissions of the exchange semesters should not overlap.

Q: If I can’t get a hard copy of my TOEFL iBT(托福) and/or IELTS Academic (雅思學術組) score report(紙本成績單) before the deadline for the application, am I eligible for the program?
A: If the official electronic score report can be uploaded to the system during the application period, it can be regarded as equivalent to the hard copy score report. Applicants that have yet to receive their official TOEFL iBT or IELTS Academic score report form (printed or PDF) may print the page of their online test results (including the header and the full website URL in the footer), sign their names on the top-right corner, scan, and submit it as a temporary substitute. Applicants must submit their official score report to NTU CoM outgoing exchange coordinator by email upon receiving it.

Q: What is the format/ template of the CV/resume?
A: CV/resume must be within two A4 pages but there is no format restriction. Therefore, we do not provide any template.

Q: How should I calculate the average grade point average (GPA)? If one semester's GPA does not reach 3.0, is it eligible to apply?
A: The GPA of each semester (excluding summer courses & unweighted) on the official transcript should be added up and then divided by the total number of semesters.

For example: Sophomores (non-early entrants) who apply for college-level exchange in their sophomore year. Since the semester has not yet ended, there are no grades for sophomore year. If the GPA for the first semester of freshman year is 3.6 and the GPA for the second semester of freshman year is 4.0, then the average grade point average (GPA) over the years is (3.6+4.0)/2=3.8 Regardless of whether there is any semester GPA < 3.0, as long as the average GPA over the years > 3.0, you can apply for it! **Early entrants please include all available GPA & semesters on your transcript in your calculations

Q: If I have taken the TOEFL iBT (托福) and/or IELTS Academic (雅思學術組) exam but the score report will not be available before the deadline of the application, can I apply first and provide the score report after the deadline?
A: Applicants who fail to upload application documents during the application period will be considered ineligible.

Q: If my exchange school does not ask the applicants to provide proof of English Proficiency, can I be waived from this requirement when applying for the NTU CoM Student Exchange Program?
A: English Proficiency Test Score Report is required by NTU CoM regardless of whether the exchange schools require it or not. Applicants who fail to provide application documents during the application period will be considered ineligible.

Q: Where can I find the Student Exchange Program Application Guide?
A: Visit the announcement page of the NTU CoM Office of International Affairs website.

Q: When should I provide my English Proficiency Test Score Report (英文檢定證明)?
A: All applicants should upload all application documents to the application system during the application period.

Q: If I only have a TOEIC(多益) score sheet, am I qualified for the program?
A: No. Only TOEFL iBT(托福) / IELTS Academic (雅思學術組) score report(s) will be accepted. TOEFL MyBest™ Scores, IELTS (General Training), TOEIC or other certifications that are not listed will not be accepted.

Q: If my exchange school accepts TOEIC as only English test proof, can I not provide TOEFL iBT(托福)/ IELTS Academic (雅思學術組) score report in our college's internal selection?
A: TOEFL iBT(托福)/ IELTS Academic (雅思學術組) English score report is one of the necessary application documents for our college's internal selection. Only those who have obtained bachelor's or master's degree in English-speaking countries can be exempted from providing TOEFL iBT(托福)/ IELTS Academic (雅思學術組) score report in our college's internal selection, but need to provide relevant documentation. Only those who pass our college's internal selection and get admitted will be recommended by our college to the exchange school. Therefore, if an applicant does not upload all application documents to the online application system during application period, they will be considered ineligible.

Q: If my TOEFL iBT(托福) / IELTS Academic (雅思學術組)score has expired, am I eligible to apply? Can I apply first and then supplement English score report later?
A: No, the TOEFL iBT(托福) / IELTS Academic (雅思學術組) English score report is one of the necessary application documents for our college's internal selection. Only those who have obtained bachelor's or master's degree in English-speaking countries can be exempted from this requirement in our college's internal selection, but need to provide relevant documentation. Only those who pass our college's internal selection and get admitted will be recommended by our college to the exchange school. Therefore, if an applicant does not upload all application documents to the online application system during application period, they will be considered ineligible.

Q: If I am a first-year Master's student who has obtained a transcript from this school, do I need to attach a bachelor's transcript?
A: Master's students who already have NTU's transcripts should upload their master's transcripts to the application system. However, if the "Exchange Partner Schools List" states that an additional bachelor's degree transcript is required, please upload it separately in its designated field.

Q: Can I change my preference after submitting the Exchange Destination Preference List?
A: No.

Q: If I did not submit application documents during the application period, can I still apply for overseas exchange during the second-round online application period?
A: Only applicants who do not confirm their admissions in the first-round application by the deadline OR are not accepted in the first-round application are eligible to apply for the second-round application. The applicants mentioned above are those who have submitted application documents and have met application qualifications during application period, excluding those who did not complete the application.

Q: When will scholarship information be provided? How to apply?
A: The information will be announced on the official website of the CoM Office of International Affairs before the Student Exchange Program Application starts.

Q: I am currently an undergraduate student and plan to study in graduate school at NTU. Can I apply for exchange with my undergraduate status and then go on exchange during my master's study period?
A: No. Admitted students must apply to exchange schools with their status at the time of selection. Undergraduate students who are later admitted to our school's graduate school cannot request to change their status to graduate student for going abroad; those who apply with graduate student status are limited to go on exchange with graduate student status. Example: Undergraduate students can only go on exchange with undergraduate status, and master students can only go on exchange with master status. Once graduation or leaving school procedures are carried out after being admitted to the overseas exchange program, admission qualification will be canceled immediately.
