What is your ideas about career planning? Do you follow a certain framework, or do you dare to make change? Wang Rao-Qi, Class 2013 of NTU-Fudan Program, has chosen the later and opened a new chapter in her life. She is the first one in Taiwan to receive the certificate of female judge from the International Auto Sound Challenge Association (IASCA).

Started as a nurse, Wang worked as a nurse at large medical centers like the Tri-Service General Hospital. Busy as she was, the job was considered by many as stable and sustainable. As a certified scuba diver, heavy biker, and life guard, curious Wang was not content yet. Four years ago she had an idea to change her career to the family business in car stereo. “Compare with a job as a nurse, fiddling auto parts is more fun than fiddling with needles”, says Wang.

To refine technique in car stereo and for market segmentation, she remodeled the store run by her father for years, and took the IASCA training for car stereo installation, tuning technique, and audio inspection. As a woman, Wang is keen and sensitive with stereo sounds, and has successfully passed the written test and skill test and become a certified judge, proving herself among the many candidates. She is also the first female in Taiwan to win the title. As she serves as judge for contests organized by IASCA, her professionalism has won prestigious reputation among car stereo owners. She insists on doing a job right in every aspect that comes to her hands. In addition to the trust from the car owners, she is trusted by her father with the family business, which, under her management, has seen steady growth with further development and innovations. Many EMBA students are her loyal customers today.
