NTU EMBA Alumni Foundation has donated professional class movie projection equipment to the Sungreat International Convention Hall as appreciation for the University. The donated equipment is an addition to the College of Management’s teaching tools, and the Convention Hall can double as a movie theater to enhance bonding among the alumni members and promote society care.

NTU EMBA Alumni Foundation has organized its movie projection equipment donation ceremony on Mar. 14 at the Sungreat International Convention Hall, where the University’s president, vice president, faculty of the College of Management, alumni members and their families were all invited to enjoy an inspiring air force theme movie, Dream Flight, directed and produced by Li Gang. Director Li also joined the audience to experience the thrilling story in the movie and the professional performance of the movie projection equipment.

One of the reasons for choosing Dream Flight as the first movie played here is that our EMBA has had a National Defense Section, where many students were retired Air Force generals, and the section was also nicknamed the Generals’ Class. Several former general students were invited to appear in the event. After enjoying Dream Flight, guests shared with the audience their memories about their services wit the Air Force. On behalf of the EMBA Alumni Foundation, the event host presented an aerial photograph of the College of Management in 1975 to the University. He explained that the College of Management had been an important base used by the American Military for missions in China and the facility was restricted completely. Declassification of this rare aerial photo unveils the original image of the College of Management back in history and is of great reminiscent value.

According to Xie Ming-Hui, in addition to upgrading the College of Management’s equipment as appreciation to the University, the donation of the movie projection equipment also enhances unity among alumni members. The Alumni Theater is also established to promote society care. Like the movies played before, the Bridge Over Troubled Water and the Long Goodbye, society care theme movies like these can be viewed by more people through the Alumni Theater. “Alumni Theater promotes bonding among alumni members and awareness of society care as well, “ says Xie.

Chen Zhi-Quan, Chairperson of EMBA Alumni Foundation, also points out, in addition to academic activities, EMBA Alumni Foundation also wishes to expand the public welfare platform to every corner in the society. He believes Alumni Theater is one of the many ways to give back to the society; the works by emerging directors can be viewed, and more attention on society issues can be drawn from the public.
