It has been a tradition to invite business professionals to NTU GMBA for speaker events by its student council. In order to build connection between the program and the business world, the council organizes this sort of LIVE events twice per semester.
What is Live?
They are the mindset and skills today’s aspiring leaders need to succeed in business. The LIVE series invites speakers offering real-world insights on key challenges and opportunities.
In 2015, we have invited sales directors and managers from Google, Uber and W-hotel to come to NTU GMBA to share their business wisdom. On 17th May, the ex-vice president of HTC, Charles Chang, held a speech about the importance of setting up an e-commerce brand and its key considerations.
On June 8th, the ex-sales director of Beats, Daniel Lau, will be the next. He takes us inside the world of energy marketing, drawing on experiences connecting Asian consumers with global brands by building influencer networks and high-impact experiences.
With over a decade of executive involvement in energy marketing and development, Daniel Lau has built a portfolio of top tier clients, as a key player in both the creation of cutting-edge brand strategy and the development of global extension. Lau has worked with some of the world’s best-known companies including Mercedes Benz, LVMH, Nike, Alibaba, and Proctor & Gamble. Most recently, Lau worked at Beats by Dr. Dre where he was integral in its APAC growth strategy and the development of influencer relationships. Lau has been published in the Wall Street Journal Asia and the New York Times. Currently, Lau continues his work in brand consultancy with a focus on sports, music, and culture.
