Cloud Services & Integration Center” was called “Computer Center” originally. Its main goals are to provide its faculty, staff and students with the convenient, excellent Internet environment and the abundant information access services. To reach these goals, the center has three main-frame computer rooms, two computing rooms, the square footage is about 110 pings. There is a main-frame computer room in 5F of Building 1, 5F of Building 2, and 2F of Teaching and Research Hall separately. Each room has set up some servers, Internet linking equipments, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to offer the steady power source. The main services are as follows:

Management & Maintenance The faculty and staff can renew the real-time info through management interface easily and quickly.

Network Linking Service

For network service, there are data ports in all the meeting rooms, discussion rooms and lounge rooms of the college. Hence, to access the Internet, users just insert their network lines into the data ports. For wireless network service, most of the college premises including Building 1 and Building 2 has equipped with wireless network, and has been expanding yearly. For using the wireless network service, users have to apply for it in advance and be accredited by the “Computer and Information Networking Center” of NTU. To use the wireless network service temporarily for international conference or big events, please make an application one week ahead of time.

Computer Classroom Service

There are two computer classrooms located on the third floor of Building 1, the large classroom is equipped with 72 PCs and the small one 60 PCs. Besides, both rooms have other facilities individually, such as two overhead projectors, two set of speakers and microphones, two teaching broadcasting systems, two A4 scanners, two laser jet printers, one color laser jet printer, and one demo PC for instructors to use.

Financial Database Service

As of 2015, the college offers various database for teaching and research purpose, including BoardEx, SDC, IBES Datafeed, Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS), Audit Analytics, COMPUSTAT Research Insight, Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP), NYSE Trade & Quote (NYSE TAQ), comScore, AREMOS, DataStream (single site version, used only on the third floor of Building 1), TEJ (the listed company data in Taiwan), EBSCO Business Source Elite Publications, Factiva and Gartner. All the Internet version database can be accessed on campus. For now, there are three research assistants taking turn on duty helping users in the center. Users can ask for help if they have any questions about database.

Electronic Board Service

The college has set up 34 pieces of electronic board on each floor, hallway, and meeting room. They can display the real-time multimedia videos to broadcast the news. In ordinary time, they can show the info, broadcasting orations, seminars and events news. Through the management and renewal of the main control room, they can provide faculty, staff, students and visitors a flexible and convenient communication platform and environment.
