1. Organizer: CSMOT

2. Purpose: Enhance prospective and innovative theoretic and empirical studies in the filed of technology management, and encourage graduate students’ academic contribution to technology management. 

3. Entry qualification for dissertation: Dissertations by those who have graduated from domestic public or private universities between 2011 and 2013 in the fields of empirical industry case study, technology management case study, school-business partnership case study, or problem analysis in industry practice.

4. Awards and quota

(1)  Prizes:

1.  One winner of excellence award in each field for EMBA dissertation; each winner will receive one fine medal.

2.  Several winners of merit award in each filed for EMBA dissertation; each winner will receive one gold-foil certificate of merit.

(2)  Commendation:

1. Award winners will receive medals or certificates of merit; the faculty advisors will receive medals or certificates of merit; both will publicly cited for commendation in the annual convention of the CSMOT. 

2. The dissertation of the winner of excellence award will be presented orally at the annual convention of the CSMOT and recommended for publish on the Journal of Technology Management.

3. Dissertation abstracts of the winners will be included in the dissertation collections of the “2013 CSMOT Annual Convention and Dissertation

5. Review method:

(1) Review committee, which consists of invited scholars, experts, and industry representatives.

(2) Review will focus on the description of case study subject and industry overview, practicality and innovation of the case study topic, comprehensiveness of case study structure, adequacy of case study’ decision, comprehensiveness of case study, and academic and practical contribution.

 (3) Dissertation will not be returned after the review and will be collected by the CSMOT or forwarded to the concerned academic institutes as reference.

6. Application period: Jul. 1, thru Sep. 21, 2013.

7. Required papers:

(1) CSMOT’s proprietary application form (which is available for download at the CSMOT website) and photocopy of academic credential (or diploma).

(2) Original copy of dissertation and 5 copies of abstract.
